Enroll a corporate iPhone or iPad
Goal: The Apple device is enrolled and accepts MDM commands.
Before you begin
Prepare the MDM push certificate for APNs. For ADE, you also need ABM, the device assignment, and an enrollment profile.
Procedure
- Configure APNs.
- For ADE, prepare Apple Business Manager.
- Enroll the Apple device.
- Select the required iOS restrictions.
- Assign the configuration.
Expected result
The MDM profile is installed, contact is fresh, the allowed command has been executed, and the required restrictions are in effect.
If the result differs
ABM is not installed on the verified environment and opens with a loading error; this stage cannot be considered confirmed. A successful APNs connection check does not prove delivery to the device.
Changes and rollback
Confirm the recipients before changing an assignment. Test the new value on a test device first. Do not treat removing an assignment as an automatically confirmed rollback of all local settings: check the final state of the device and the application.
